About Chitwan

<p>Chitwan is a district in the southern lowlands (Terai) of Nepal. It is home to Chitwan National Park, Nepal's first national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site established in 1973. The park protects one of the last remaining undisturbed vestiges of the Terai Arc Landscape.</p>
<p>Bharatpur is the major city in Chitwan, and Sauraha is the main tourist hub near the national park. The area is characterized by lush subtropical forests, grasslands, and rivers, providing habitat for diverse wildlife.</p>
<p>Chitwan National Park is renowned for wildlife including the endangered one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal tiger, gharial crocodile, wild elephant, spotted deer, and over 544 species of birds.</p>
